Wick Trimming 101: Did you know how important it is to trim your candle wicks? The wick should be trimmed every 4 hours of burn time. Simply extinguish the flame, let the candle come to room temperature, and trim the wick to 1/8 of an inch before relighting. If you do not have a pair of wick trimmers, scissors work perfectly.
.
.
Untrimmed wicks can cause uneven burning, high flames, smoking or sooting. They are a major contributor to the unsightly black residue that you sometimes see around the tops of the candle jars.
.
.
Keeping your wicks properly trimmed will save you money by giving your candles a longer burn time. Trimming the wick can help prolong the life of your candle by as much as 25%! It will also give them a cleaner and brighter burn.
.
.
Best Practice: Trim your wick before every burn. I hope this was helpful to you!
