Labor Day Weekend

We spent Labor Day weekend in Destin this year. Destin is truly one of the prettiest places as far as the ocean and beach is concerned. Our favorite place to go is Henderson Beach State Park. It’s ranked #3 out of 74 things to do in Destin! The sand is always so pretty and clean, and it isn’t nearly as crowded as some of the public beaches.

This year, we decided to stay at the Henderson Lofts which is located within a few steps to Henderson Beach State Park. The accommodations were fantastic, and it was so nice being able to walk to and from the beach instead of driving back and forth like we have done in years past. The boys absolutely loved the pool, and they especially loved it at night when the water changed colors! We also loved making s’mores by the fire pit. I have never tried a s’more with a reeses peanut butter cup, but it was delicious!

We enjoyed trying new restaurants while we in town. Dewey Destin’s was one that we tried. We especially enjoyed the atmosphere and the view! We tried the sampler platter so we could sample a little bit of everything. My boys especially enjoyed the snow cones afterwards!

I also decided to try something this year that I have never done before. I absolutely love beach photos; however, I didn’t have a photographer scheduled to do pictures for us, so I decided to attempt to do our own pictures. I brought my tripod and used the 10 second timer on my camera for a family and couple selfie! Ha! I’m sure we must have looked ridiculous out there smiling at a camera with no photographer behind it! Overall, I was happy with how they turned out!

Last but not least, I tried my very first Pumkin Spice Latte from Starbuck’s, and it did not dissapoint! It was a great weekend get-away…very relaxing and needed!
