Lake Tahoe

My husband and I knew that we wanted to go someplace special for our 10 year wedding anniversary. After giving it some thought and consideration, we both decided that we would like to spend our anniversary trip at Lake Tahoe. I’m so glad we did! The views were gorgeous, and our little cottage was spectacular! We stayed at the Rockwood Cottage, and can I just say, that the owner went above and beyond to make it a special anniversary trip for us! From printing out some of our special photos, to stocking the fridge with some of our favorite beverages, to leaving us the sweetest note and gifts on the bed, she truly made things special for us! I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone planning to visit Lake Tahoe! (Side note: The sunset views from the cottage are stunning!)

One of our activities that we didn’t initially plan on doing, but kind of stumbled across was horseback riding up the mountain at Zephyr Cove Stables. This was so much fun! And the views from the mountain top were beautiful!

Following our horseback venture, we visited the Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park. It is so unique in that it has pine trees growing on the beach! And the pine cones are huge! This park was truly beautiful. If you get the opportunity to visit Lake Tahoe, this State Park is definitely worth going to!

We celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary dinner at the Cafe Fiore Italian Cuisine.  Italian has always been one of our favorite foods and it was a special treat to eat at this locally owned restaurant where the food is fresh, delicious, and authentic!

My all time favorite activity was our photographic tour of Lake Tahoe. Keith at  Tahoe Photographic Tours was absolutely incredible! He took us to the most popular and scenic places including Mt. Tallac, Emerald Bay, and Eagle Falls, He made the drive in between times very interesting and informative. He not only allowed me to bring my camera on the tour to make photos, but he also made pictures of Micah and I at each location. I can’t say enough good things about this tour!

This was definitely was one of my favorite trips to date that I have been on, and I hope that we have the opportunity to take our boys back one day!
